Upon arrival at Leh Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. Given the high altitude of 11,000 feet, we recommend taking it easy today. Enjoy a simple and light lunch at your hotel and spend the rest of the day resting and acclimatizing to the altitude. It is important to drink plenty of water and avoid any strenuous activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive along the Indus River to witness the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus Rivers at Sangam. After lunch, visit the Hunder sand dunes and experience a camel ride on the double-humped Bactrian camels (available at an additional cost). Spend the evening relaxing at your camp. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
Today, enjoy an excursion to Turtuk, a less-visited and fascinating destination. This border village, recaptured by the Indian Army in 1971, offers stunning mountain views and unique cultural insights. Learn about its history and the local way of life from villagers who have relatives across the border. After a full day of exploration, return to Nubra Valley. Overnight stay at your camp.
After breakfast, depart for Pangong Lake, located at 14,500 feet, via Agham and Shyok villages. The drive offers stunning views of the Himalayas and takes you to the highest saltwater lake in the world. Check into your camp upon arrival and enjoy your lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure, exploring the lake and its picturesque surroundings. Pangong Lake is also known for being a popular location for Bollywood films, so be sure to capture some memorable photos. Overnight stay at the camp.
Early in the morning, enjoy breakfast and check out of your camp. Drive back to Leh, stopping en route to visit Thiksey Monastery, perched on a hill with panoramic views of the Indus Valley. Thiksey is famous for its massive statue of Maitreya and its assembly hall housing numerous prayer books. Continue to Shey Palace, the former summer residence of the King of Ladakh. Arrive in Leh in the early evening, check into your hotel, and relax. Optionally, you can visit the local market for souvenirs (pick-up and drop-off to the market will be at your own expense). Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
